The Secrets of Successful Blogging

The most important thing to know about blog readers is that they have exceptionally short attention spans: if you can't hold their interest for more than 20 seconds you're gonna lose them to ESPN.com or Facebook or whatever. First of all, you've gotta have a unique background and layout to hook folks in. Something classy and eye popping; you know, like this operation here. Once they're in, you've gotta relieve the horrible tedium of reading with frequent Youtube breaks and sub-headings. Also, inserting graphs and links to respectable sources no one will read heightens your credibility as a expert. The person writing is usually more important than the actual blog content in determining the blog's popularity, so make sure you've got an impressive/humorous profile picture and insert lots of irrelevant personal detail into your posts to liven them up a bit.
